Clubs run long hours, and the load is heaviest when the sun is up: kitchens, cold rooms, gaming floors, air conditioning. That is the profile solar suits best, because the power is used on site as it is generated rather than sold back cheaply.

Zool is an EPC, so the same team designs the system, funds it where that suits the club, installs it and looks after it afterwards. One team, one agreement, for the life of the system.

The STC rebate

The federal rebate now reaches club-sized systems

The Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme creates small-scale technology certificates on eligible solar installations. The value is deemed upfront and comes off the installed price, rather than arriving later as a payment.

  • From 1 October 2026 it covers solar up to 1 MW, up from 100 kW
  • That brings most club roofs inside the scheme for the first time
  • The certificate value comes off the price you are quoted

The short answers.

What does it cost the club?

Nothing. Zool supplies the system, the entry page and the install. Your club supplies the audience.

How much work is it for our team?

Promotion, and that is it. Most clubs run it through their member email and socials, and we can draft that copy for you.

Who can enter?

Your members. We set the eligibility with you, including what happens if the winner is renting or cannot take the system.

What happens to the entry details?

Entries are collected for the competition and, where members agree to it, so Zool can contact them about solar and battery for their home. The consent wording sits on the entry page and your club sees it before anything goes live. Read our privacy policy.

Who installs the system?

Zool does. We are an EPC, so the same team designs it, installs it and looks after it afterwards. Nothing is handed to whoever is cheapest that week.

Can we look at solar for the venue as well?

Yes, and plenty of clubs do. From 1 October 2026 the federal STC rebate covers solar up to 1 MW, which brings club-sized systems into the scheme. Send us a recent bill and we will model what your roof would do. There is no cost and no obligation.
