New South Wales

Commercial solar and batteries,
built for NSW businesses.

We design, fund, build and run the system. You pay for the power, not the panels. And since 1 September, NSW has two battery incentives for commercial and industrial sites that change what a good system looks like.

Why NSW is different

Most states reward how much you use.
NSW pays attention to when.

That single difference changes the shape of the answer for a business, and it is why a system designed for another state can be the wrong system here.

2.30 to 8.30

The window that matters

The Peak Demand Reduction Scheme values power use moved out of the late afternoon and evening. Those hours decide how big the network has to be built, so they are the most expensive in the system.

BESS4 and 5

Business sites only

Two battery activities opened on 1 September. They exclude residential buildings. Certificates are created when the system goes in, so the value comes off the project cost. Conditions apply, including a minimum contribution.

30 min

The demand charge

On a demand tariff a large part of your bill is set by your single busiest half hour, then charged across the whole period. A battery covers that spike so the meter never records it.

1 Oct

A bigger federal cap, expected

The cap on the federal solar discount is expected to rise from 1 October, subject to the regulations being made. It is not in force yet, so nobody should be costing a project on it as settled.

What we actually do

One team from the first look at your bill through to the maintenance in year seven.

  • Design and build. Commercial solar from 30 kW to 2 MW+, battery storage, EV charging and grid optimisation.
  • Fund it, if that suits you better. Under Total Care we pay for the system and you pay a fixed rate for the power. No capital outlay, and fees apply under the agreement.
  • Run it afterwards. Monitoring, maintenance and optimisation are part of the model rather than sold alongside it.
  • Handle the scheme paperwork. Eligibility, certificates and approvals, so nobody on your team has to learn a scheme rule.
  • Tell you when the answer is no. A short lease or a roof that needs replacing first changes the sums, and you are better off knowing early.

One bill is all we need

Send us your latest electricity bill and we will come back with what your site would save in a year, over ten and fifteen years, the system we would recommend and the carbon figure. At no cost and no obligation.

Zool Energy is a Clean Energy Council Approved Retailer and member, a New Energy Tech Approved Seller and an AFCA member. Scheme eligibility depends on the rules in force, the equipment used, accreditation and a site assessment. Certificate values move with the market, so any figure is indicative and carries the date it was calculated. Savings figures are worked out from your own bill and are indicative only.
